Connect Clara to Claude and you can ask about your calls, messages, and customers right inside a chat. You can also make changes, like adding a special instruction to your receptionist, and Clara will ask you to confirm before anything is saved.
Connecting works with any Claude plan: Free, Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise. On the Free plan, you can only connect one app like this at a time.
Connecting Clara to an AI assistant is part of Clara Pro.
The Clara link
You’ll paste this link during setup:
https://mcp.heyitsclara.com/mcp
You’ll find it on the Claude page under Integrations in Clara on the web too, where the same steps are laid out with screenshots and the link is ready to copy.
Connect Clara
- Open Settings. Open Claude, on the web at claude.ai or in the desktop app, and go to Settings.
- Open Connectors. In Settings, open the Connectors section.
- Add a custom connector. Click “Add custom connector” (or the + next to “Custom”).
- Name it and paste the Clara link. Call it “Clara” (or anything you like), then paste the link above. Leave the Advanced settings, Client ID and Secret, empty. Clara fills those in automatically.
- Click Add. Claude opens Clara’s sign-in page in your browser.
- Sign in with your Clara email. Enter your email, then the 6-digit code Clara sends you, the same way you sign in to Clara today. Approve the request, and you’re set.
- Start chatting with Clara. In any chat, tap the + button and make sure Clara is turned on, then just ask.
On a Team or Enterprise plan?
If your business uses Claude on a Team or Enterprise plan, someone with admin access can add Clara for everyone at once.
If you’re the admin:
- Go to Settings, then Organization settings, then Connectors.
- Click Add, hover over Custom, and choose Web.
- Paste the Clara link, leave the Advanced settings empty, and click Add.
If you’re a team member:
- Go to your own Settings, then Connectors.
- Find Clara in the list your admin added and click Connect.
- Sign in with your email and the code Clara sends you. You’ll only ever see your own data.
Now try this
Some things to ask once you’re connected:
“List my Clara inquiries from today.”
“Which of my inquiries are urgent right now?”
“Show me everything Clara knows about [customer name].”
“Add a follow-up text asking customers to leave a review after their call.”
Anything that changes your Clara setup, like replying to a customer or editing your receptionist, will ask you to confirm first.
Clara connects using the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard for AI assistants.
