Winning the job, answered

What should a carpenter include in a professional quote?

A professional quote should include your business name and contact details, the client name and address, a clear breakdown of labour and materials, the total cost including VAT if applicable, your payment terms (e.g. 50% deposit, balance on completion), how long the quote is valid for, and your signature or trading name. This generator handles all of it, you just fill in the job details.

How do I send a quote to a customer?

Once you fill in the job details above, you can print it as a PDF, email it directly to the customer, or save it for later. Most customers appreciate receiving a quote on the same day, the faster you send it, the better your chances of winning the job.

Is this quote generator really free?

Yes, completely free, no sign-up required, no watermark on the quote. Clara built this tool because carpenters told us the admin side of the job takes too long. Use it as much as you like.

What's the difference between a quote and an estimate?

A quote is a fixed price for the work described, if the customer accepts it, you're legally bound to that price. An estimate is an approximate guide that can change. For most trade jobs, send a quote: it protects both you and the customer, and it's what most customers expect before approving work.
