Call forwarding is how Clara receives calls on your behalf. You set it up once on your phone and Clara handles the rest.
Forwarding modes
- Forward when unanswered — Clara picks up only when you don’t answer within a set number of rings. This is the most common setup.
- Forward always — every call goes straight to Clara. Use this if you want Clara to handle all incoming calls.
- Forward when busy — Clara answers when you’re already on another call.
How to set it up
iPhone
- Open Settings → Phone → Call Forwarding
- Toggle it on and enter your Clara number
For conditional forwarding (unanswered/busy), you’ll need to dial a forwarding code. The Clara app will show you the exact code for your network.
Android
- Open Phone app → Settings → Call Forwarding
- Choose your forwarding type and enter your Clara number
Network codes
Each mobile network uses different codes. In the Clara app, go to Settings → Call Forwarding and select your network — we’ll show you the exact code to dial.
Testing your setup
After setting up forwarding, call your own number from a different phone. If Clara answers, you’re all set.
Common issues
- Forwarding not working? — make sure you’ve dialled the correct code and that your network supports the forwarding type you chose.
- Calls going to voicemail instead? — you may need to disable your network’s voicemail first. Contact your network provider for help.
